It's a silly exaggeration. You're very unlikely to slip off satin bedding unless you're a particular violent sleeper or... ah... "bedroom athlete" shall we say. Static electricity, on the other hand, can be somewhat shocking after spending a night in satin sheets. (I should be slapped for that pun. )

Satin bedding is luxurious and very comfortable, but it takes some grace to get used to the material. All exaggerated movements and excess pressure that is applied to an area near the edge of the bed should be avoided. Usually, it is not the person that slips off of the bedding, but the bedding that slips off of the bed.
