When raising guinea pigs you should know that every guinea pig needs a lot of care and attention to be happy and healthy. All guinea pigs need a large amount of water which is refilled daily, pelleted food, and a good supply of vitamin C each day.

They require lots of care and attention, lots of hay, vegetables and quality pellets and are more than a "pocket pet" for your young child to get bored of.

They need your full attention and cannot be kept in a tiny cage. They also require vet care and a friend. They are not suitable for young children.
