Start with a clean floor and use an oil based paint. Make sure this area you're doing, does not get wet regularly. It is easiest to paint the grout the same color. If you're redoing the grout, do it before you paint. After painting 2-3 coats, seal with a clear varnish that won't yellow.

I would recommend using an acrylic latex floor enamel. You would have to treat the ceramic tile like a porous surface much like concrete. Oil based products are for wood so that is why it is recommended using an acrylic latex, and being it is for a high traffic area.

Before carrying painting work, the ceramic tiles should be cleaned neatly. Do not use decorative paint because it will produce stunning results. Do not paint in areas that get wet everyday

Many painters do not recommend that you paint ceramic tiles. The paint scratches very easily and it will not look good within a relative short period of time. However, if you must paint them, apply 2-3 coats of acrylic latex floor enamel. Afterwards, apply a clear varnish to keep it from yellowing.

On ceramic surfaces it's encesary to use a thicker paint ,because a juicy one will stretch all over the floor and i guess you don't want that

The first step in the process is to deep clean the ceramic tile and grout. You must remove all dirt, oil, wax, grease, mold, etc.
