The heart is an intricate pump with valves and chambers. If a valve is leaking, blood is backwashing and the chamber is not being emptied completely for the next delivery. This decreases the heart's efficiency and cuts the amount of oxygen delivered into the bloodstream. Leaky heart valves are often repaired or replaced.

A leaky valve is when blood is pushed through a valve in the heart, but in stead of flowing through like its supposed to some of it falls back down. These leaks cause the heart to work harder as it re-pumps the blood. This can lead to an enlarged heart.

You should be taking things easily because it can cause you to have more problems. The leak in the heart valve can be corrected with surgery and your doctor can prescribe you some medicine that will help you with the pain and nausea that you are probably having with this problem.

A leak occurs when a valve in the heart does not close tightly and some blood leaks back. The heart has to work harder and less blood circulates in the body. This condition can occur in between any of the chambers in the heart. It can be congenital, acquired, or caused by germs.
