You can clean the valves by pulling the head off. You can then remove the valves and clean them. Once you have finished cleaning the valves you are going to want to install a new head gasket and then put the head back on. Make sure you follow the manufacturers torque settings when installing it.

You're going to need some cleaning solvent, a sturdy rag. Make sure you kill the engine and keep your hands clear of the turbines.
