If someone has filed a legal action in civil court, the parties are notified to attend a hearing. In the hearing, the judge will determine if there are sufficient grounds to proceed with the case and take it to a trial or a panel. All parties involved are allowed to speak.

The main thing you should know is not to ignore the hearing. If you do not show up, you will automatically be found at fault.

You need to appear on time and dress professionally. Answer all of the judge's and lawyers questions truthfully and concisely and don't talk back to them.
