According to the law fed.r.civ.p.3, what single event leads to a civil action?

According to the above state law a civil action is commenced when one thing occurs, what is that one thing?

According to statute, a civil action is commenced by filing a complaint with the court. If this is in the nature of amending a pleading, there are various stipulations by which this may be done- you can do it within the stated time constraints, or with opposing parties consent. You need to determine your needs and consult an attorney.

Rule 3 states: "Commencement of Action. A civil action is commenced by filing a complaint with the court. " Once the action is file, the process begins.
