What should I do if my son spilled hot water on his face?

Take him to the doctor immediately. This may have caused damage that you cannot see with the naked eye. Don't put anything on it until you see the doctor. Their are alot of old wife's tales and they are not good for burns and only make them worse. I would worry about his sight.

Apply a cold wash cloth to his face and call 911 and or take him to the emergency room. Hot water can result in a scalding burn.

If it is immediate, put cooling gel or burn ointment on this. If it happened recently, take him to the doctor to ensure it is healing.

Immediatly flush with cool wet (sterile water if possible) water and seek medical help immediatly for pain treatment, infection control and bandaging/healing.
