If you find yourself with an roommate doing illegal stuff, a certain degree of caution and discretion is advised. The first thing to do is consider if you condone their actions and then consider the implications of being a potential accomplice. Simplistically, there are three options - get a new room mate, ignore it or get involved!

You should get out of their as soon as possible. Risking your freedom or life for someone's elses foolishness is never a good idea.

You reaction should depend upon the degree to which your roomates actions violate legal and or moral codes. For example, if he is smoking weed and calling Craigslist whores, leave him alone. However, if he is smoking METH and touching kids, you have to turn him in.

If you don't want to narc on them or be tainted by the illegal stuff, one of you has to move out.
