What should I do if I have had a fever for over 5 days?

Call your doctor: If you have a fever of 103 or higher. If you've had a fever of 101 or higher, that lasts longer than a couple of days. Anytime you have a fever that lasts longer then 3 days.

If you have a fever for over 5 days, you should go to see a doctor or go to the emergency room. and drink lots of water.

There can be viral infections that take about 7 days to resolve meaning that fever over 5 days may be uncomfortable but not necessarily alarming. It may be best to call your doctor in case there are other symptoms of concern and may necessitate coming in for a consultation.

You should always treat a fever. If you can, take acetaphetamin, also a cool wet wash cloth to the neck will cool your body.
