What should I do if I forgot the passcode on my Lancer?

Apparently there is a rest procedure. First turn the key to "ON" then hold the "hang-up" button for 2 seconds. Release the button and repeat 2 more times but do not take more than 10 seconds. Then you should be able to re-register.

Your best bet should be to take a ride over to your local Mitsubishi dealer. They will be able to determine your passcode. It is locked somewhere in your cars ECU and they should be able to find it rather easily.

The first thing you should do is contact a local dealer for your vehicle and price out getting the locking mechanism replaced. If you don't find it by the time they quote you, you'll need to get that locking mechanism replaced with a new code. Don't lose the code again after that.
