You should take your daughter to the nearest emergency room for treatment. Bites are serious and the dog officer should be called to make sure it does not have rabies.

Go see a doctor. Depending on the severity of the wound, stitches may be required. Further, at a minimum, your daughter is going to get an antibiotic prescription. Depending on the exact circumstances of your neighbor's dog's vaccination history, your daughter may also require a shot for rabies or tetanus. Those are handled by MDs not dentists.

You should go to the ER immediately. Dogs have a lot of bacteria in their mouths that could potentially harmful. Tongue wounds also bleed a lot and she could die. Don't wait to take her to an appointment, just go to the ER. It's very foolish of you to wait. What on earth could a dentist do for her!?

For a dog bite one should go to their physician. Make sure you have the animal's immunization details when you go.
