Lymph nodes are a filtration system for the blood. Swollen glands indicate an infection. If the sweling does not resolve in a few days, see your doctor, especially if you have a fever or any pain.
Swollen Lymph nodes located anywhere in the body is a sign of infection. This needs to be treated with either antibiotics or steroids depending on the type of infection.
Swollen lymph nodes should not be ignored, whereever they might be. Someimes they may be there a day or two, but after day three a visit to a medical clinic is in order for an examination.
