A coated throat is common with infection, particularly strep. The tonsils and back of the throat (pharynx) are covered with a white substance that is not affected by eating or swallowing. It is possible to have no other symptoms. Because of the seriousness of infection, see your physician to check for strep and to treat the matter appropriately.

A white covered throat could mean thrush, which could be a side effect of taking an antibiotic recently, or of a lowered immune system. See your doctor.

Go to your doctor. It could mean a few different things. You could have an infection in your throat which means you get your throat checked. You could also have a thing called thrush. Your throat and mouth get very dry and have a lot of white powder looking stuff on your mouth and tongue. There is meds for this.

This is a sign of infection. You need to see a doctor to get medication for treatment. This could be strep throat, thrush, or a number of other infections. If it is thrush, or strep throat, it is highly contagious.

It is important to understand that any body or medical condition that is out of the ordinary might be a problem for you. A white covered throat is the start of a sore throat, so a visit to the pharmacist for a recommendation is in order.

You will need to see your doctor for treatment. Usally, this is a sign of some type of infection or virus. The most common ones are strep throat and tonsilitis. You will need to have antibiotics to treat these conditions. If strep throat goes long enough untreated you can run into rhumatic fever.
