A child with a prolonged fever should be taken to the doctor. A fever can be caused by any number of viruses, bacteria, or even some medications. Err on the side of caution and continue to consult a doctor until it goes away.

I would recommend using Infants Tylenol every 4 hours and alternate using infants motrin also to help the fever. Also I would contact the baby's doctor about the fever if it lasts more than 7 day's or if other symptoms show up when the baby has the fever it could be something more than just a fever.
