Generally, the lower it is, the better. I'd say 80 beats per minute is some average rate, but if it's under this value, it is better. The most healthy persons, those who are into sports, mountain hiking, etc. can have heart rate of under 60 beats per minute, and it's an indicator of a healthy powerful hearth.

Normal resting heart rate is between 60-80 beats per minute. Keep in mind this can be affected by recent smoking, caffeine and some medicines. For a thirty-five year old 70-75 is average, but if you are in good shape it can be much lower. If you have one abnormally high consult your doctor about it!

A normal resting pulse range is 70 to 100 beats per minute. However, young, healthy, and especially athletic people can have much lower resting heart rates as low as in the 50's and this would be considered normal.

The average resting pulse rate for a 35 year old is 60-100 beats per minute. This will vary depending on whether you are male or female, how physically active you are, how much you weigh, etc. There are monitors that you can wear on your wrist that will gauge your RPR after entering your stats.
