Make sure you are in well lite area. Try to pump in a neighborhood that you know is fairly safe. Look around and make eye contact with anyone that you see. This shows that you acknowledged you know they are there. It makes you a less likely victim.
Turn your engine off before starting. Make sure you pay attention to what you are doing. Dont get back into your vehicle untill you are done because this can caus a static charge. Make sure your done pumping and give it a couple secounds to drip the rest into your tank.
