What purchase options exist for a digital 8mm video tape player?

Contrary to popular belief, there are no such things as DIGITAL 8mm tape players. Only such devices exist for ANALOG devices. You must use the video out ports via camcorder.

Sony still provides you with many options for digital 8mm. However, this is an aging tecnology and the only reason to consider a purchase in this area is for converting existing data.

Basically, there are no options. You are pretty much relegated to connection the video camera to the TV and using the playback option. Unlike VHS/C, which has a VHS adapter, the 8mm has no equivalent adapter. With DVD burning software, the tapes can be transfered to DVD with relative ease.
