What materials can a hot water cylinder be made of?

If you are speaking of something similar to a water heater they can be made out of cast iron, glass, stainless steel. They may also be made out of some forms of clay similar to tera cota. Fiberglass may also be used depending upon the temperature range. Another metal that may be used is copper but it would be expensive.

There are Low pressure,Medium pressure and Mains pressure Hot water cylinders.Low pressure cylinders are made of copper internal cylinders,which are insulated and have galvanized outer casing. Medium pressure are made of heavier gauge copper and Mains pressure cylinders have a steel inner cylinder lined in enamel.They are made of metal.
