What kind of transmission goes in an S10?

It depends on the year model and engine. At first, the inline four came with a 5-speed manual, while the V6 came with either a 3-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual. Later, the 3-speed automatic was replaced with a 4-speed automatic. The second generation S-10 came with either a 4-cylinder engine with 5-speed manual, and a V6 with 4-speed automatic.
