What kind of toys do gerbils like?

I kept my gerbil on sand or peat,he liked to dig and tunnel in it. He would also devour any paper or card tubes you gave him, for hours.

I've seen them running in wheels and chasing balls. I think they mostly like the same types of toys that other rodent animals. If he/she gets bored a lot it might be worth taking him out more often for variety.
