A 20 gallon tank will work fine if you only have the spotted puffer in it. However, if you have other species you will want to go for a 50-60 tank. Remember to have rock formations that leave open spaces for them to swim around in.

You will need a salt water tank for this type of fish. You can mix your own water by purchasing a bag of aquarium salt or you can buy the water premixed at your local fish store. This type of fish will do better if your tank is already balanced.

Puffers need a larger living space than some fish because they like caves and other hiding places you can make for them. Provide them with the largest you can.

Because of their nature, puffer fish do better when living in a one-fish aquarium! While little, a small aquarium is fine, but they can grow to over 4". They are messy eaters and require a constant clean aquarium, as they can't handle medications well if sick. They want lots of attention and make great pets that will adore you!

First of all you will need a large tank, that can hold the fish puffed up, you will also need to make sure you have air filter, and temperature control.

The puffer fish will do best in a 50 plus gallon fresh water tank that is slightly brackish. You will either need to keep the fish alone in the tank or only place African Cichlids, other puffers or possibly mollies.

That is a salt water fish so you have to have a salt water tank. Also, it's an agressive fish so it can only be with other aggessive fish or it will kill them.

The spotted puffer fish does best in a 20 gallon or larger tank as the single fish. They are a brackish fish so they do need a bit of salt in their water but not nearly as much as a reef aquarium.

You need 5 gallons for every inch of fish, and a spotted puffer fish requires a saltwater environment with constant circulation.

Spotted puffers are difficult to keep - the tank should be no smaller than 40 gallons and they need to eat hard foods such as small snails to maintain their health.

Any tank is fine but one thing should be clear: the water needs to be purified. And the tank must be clean at all times. Use chlorine to meet this requirement.

The pot must spacious, oxygenated and full of water plants and pebbles where the fish can hide and seek foods unless the fish may feel its unsecured environment.
