Sign-on bonuses are sometimes paid to highly qualified people with significant backgrounds in technological areas or other fields where the USMC is seeking accomplished personnel. There is no routine sign-on bonus. A re-enlistment bonus is another matter.

A sign on bonus for a United States Marine varies widely. Factors that go into consideration for the amount are as follows; Urgency of recruitment, what job you qualify for and desperation of the recruiter. The more technical you job is, the higher the bonus. Anywhere from $1000 to $10,000.

This depends on your education, and if you have any special training prior to joining and what you are going to specialize in.
