Severance pay in Florida is up to each emplyer how much is given. There is no law in Florida that severance pay even has to be given. In most cases the amout of severance pay would be based on the number of years worked within the company and the position worked.

This depends on the contract with the employer. The employer must give you salary for the time you have worked. If you have unused vacation time and sick time, this is usually owed in your last check. They must pay any travel reimbursement owed, such as gas for driving to vendor sites.

It really depends on where you work. Each company is different and can decide how much severance to give. Some give up to six months.

Florida has no severance pay requirements; however, companies that do give you severance pay generally base it on the length of your employment and your wages.
