Pedicle Screws are often used in a back fusion. The pedicle screws are attached to the vertabrae and connected by a short rod. The use of Pedicle screws is safe and effective.

Usually doctors will use pedicle screws, these can be used by themselves or with other types of implants. These are more common used with a 360 fusion. The screws are made out of titanium. They are placed in the spine using a drill to first burrow the hole then the screwed is put into place.

Pedicle screws are used in spinal fusion back surgery. They act as firm anchor points that can then be connected to a rod. They are placed in two to three concescutive spine segments and then a short rod is used to connect the screws. It prevents motion at the segments being fused.

The pedicle screw, which is sometimes used as an adjunct to spinal fusion surgery, provides a means of gripping a spinal segment. The screws themselves do not fixate the spinal segment, but act as firm anchor points that can then be connected with a rod.

Pedicle screws are used, which do not themselves fixate the spinal segment, but serve as anchors. They are made of titanium. I have had them in my back for 36 years with absolutely no pain or awareness that they are there after substantial reconstruction. Contrary to urban myth, you will not set off the airport detectors.
