What kind of salaries are paid to major league baseball players?

A lot of people think they are paid too much.

In 2011, the minimum major league salary is $414,000, and the highest salary (Alex Rodriguez) is $32 million. Nine other players make at least $20 million. When considering these salaries, note that hundreds of players languish in the minor leagues paid little, and a playing career typically ends before age 40.

This depends on the skill of the player when they are in the minor leagues. Better players often land multi-million dollar contracts, since a team feels that this player can help them win more.
