You should feed your cat a high quality food with no grain or fillers. It's very important you feed a cat with diabetes good food without unnecessary additives. Taste of the Wild is an excellent choice. You also need to make sure that your cat doesn't get dehydrated and has regular checkups at the vet.

Theres alot of good cat foods avaible for diabetic cats. Wellness, Fancy Feast, Friskies and commercial raw food all have cats foods that are marked as diabetic cat food on the bag. If you want to keep cost down you could also do little things like get regular cat food with no rice in it.

A cat with diabetes should be transitioned, under professional supervision, to a veterinarian-prescribed diet such as Innova Lite canned food. Raw foods and freeze dried raw foods are also good diets for a cat with diabetes, but will take time to orient the cat to, and cost more as well.

Science Diet makes a prescription food for diabetic cats. It's called M/D. Purina makes cat food called D/M. They are expensive but work very well. You can also look for a cat food that gets less then 10% of its calories from carbohydrates. Make sure to monitor your cats insulin level especially when changing it's diet. Consult a vet.
