What kind of flavor does mascarpone cheese have?

Well from my personal experience I would say it has the same basic taste and texture as normal cream cheese. Most people say it has a more of a sweeter taste to it but I didn't really notice it. It could have been the brand of cheese I tried but I don't know it others are much different.

I've used mascarpone cheese for a tirimisu recipe and I liken it to cream cheese - very mild, very bland. It is a high fat cheese and is therefore very creamy but has little taste of itself. Most recipes call for adding flavouring to mascarpone cheese or pairing it with something strongly flavored, like the coffee in tirimisu.

I would not know what flavor that mascarpone cheese has. I have never even heard of this kind of cheese. I would research it I bet it would explain kind of what the flavor is like.
