For low-level call center type customer service, no education (except GED/diploma) is needed. However, if you want to move up in the company, you might want a degree in management.

Experience is the best. If higher education is in your future than a degree in management or sales would be helpful, but don't forget to have a part time job during college to supplement your resume.

First off, in order to gain experience in customer service, you have to work in the field where it is a primary priority, like retail or food service. When you are hands on, you don't need any classes. You learn right on the job. If you want, look online.

Experience is key when working with people. However this experience can always be gained alongside getting a degree if you wish to work your way up to higher managment, for example business studies or communication studies.
