Chances are that your problem is as simple as a battery that is too old and will no longer hold a charge. You should get a new one.

First you need to check to make sure the battery is good. If not replace battery, but if battery is good and it still will not stay charged the coil or coils may be bad on the engine. Replace coil or coils and battery should charge fine. If mower has 2 coils it is better to change both.

The battery may be low on water or it may have a crack in it or the terminals may be dirty and need cleaned.
