For the most part it is made from corn and soy. Typically the material is pressed under a lot of pressure producing oil or removed during refinement for other food.

Hey, just squeeze anything and eventially oil is bound to come out. Take anything, fruit, vegetables, rocks. All it takes is just pressure. So the way to get vegetable oil is just take any random vegetable and squeeze the crap out of it. I prefer soybeans, myself, but any old vegetable will do.

Vegetableoil is not directly extracted from all vegetables. These are extracted from Sunflower, cottonseed, mustard seed etc. According to my knowledge oils which donot contain animal fats are vegetable oils.
