In areas where snow is plentiful so will sometime get a snow mould or fungus on your lawn. Once your lawn is dry so you be able to either rake up the snow mould or fungus and dispose of in the garbage. You might want to wear a mask if allergies are a problem for you.

Are you sure it is a fungus? Actinomycetes are bacteria that like to grow in decomposing material and look alot like a fungus coloney when they are well fed with compost. These guys actually help improve the quality of your dirt so you might want to let this "fungus" stay. In any case don't rush to the fungicide isle.

This may be a fungus known as pink snow mold. It appears as the name suggests, a pink and contton like fungus amongst the grass. Apply a fungicide to treat this such as Ferti-lome broad spectrum fungicide.

I believe you are speaking of Actinomycetes. Actinomycetes is a filamentous bacteria which can have an earthy, musty smell and is the bacteria which is the most beneficial to your compost.

It sounds like red thread. This is not a big deal. With proper lawn care this should go away on its own.

There are many fungi that can infest a lawn. The most common are Red Thread, Dollar Spot, and Pythium Blight. Of the three the most common is Red Thread, and it appears just as the name says. There are fungicides available to control all of these diseases.
