What is the usual format for an interview?

There is no any specific format for the interview. Questions will depend upon the post for which you have applied. However, one should have thorough knowledge on current affairs which is common for all interviews. Firstly you have to impress them by way of your behaviour, dressing, politness etc.

You will go into the office and see either one of two people. After the usual resume hand off and business card pick up, then you will be given a series of questions that you will have to answer. Some are about skills, others are about personality. If you answer well and are qualified, then you are hired.

I have been into two interviews. They asked me these questions: tell me about yourself, what do you want to do in the next 3-5 years, and why do you want to work for this company.
