If the tumor is canerious, you can talk to your vet about pain managment options to keep your pet rat comfortable for the remainder of his life. If the tumor is an abcess it can be treated with anitbiotics and cleaning with alcohol.

Unfortunately, there is no affordable treatment for a rat with a tumor. Surgery is possible but without any guarantees of success and it is pretty costly. The expense is usually not worth it for a rat.

Take your rat to the veterinarian. You need to determine is the animal is suffering and how to proceed in a way that is in the rat's best interest.

99.9% Of Rats are never treated for this as One they are too small to surgically remove all of the Tumor. And Number two most Vets advise against doing anything but putting the rat down. As it is not cost effective for most owners. You will need to take it to a small exotics Vet.

The treatment is a vet. No matter how much you read, this isn't something you can do. It may be benign (non-cancerous) but your pet may suffer great discomfort and loss of "quality of life", even a benign tumor can hurt other organs. Something like this should always be a heads up to GTTV- Get To The Vet.

A tumor in any animal will be treated different depending on whether or not it's cancerous, and which organ it is affecting. Treatments include surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy, just like for cancer in people. If you suspect your rat has a tumor, take him or her to your vet for a professional assessment.

There are a few schools of thought, surgery which is risky one due to anestesia, also hollistic approaches, such as soy beans and herbal teas, but the most common road here if the tumor is benign would be to leave it alone and make your pet as comfortable as possible.

Speak with a vet, how ever anesthetising a rat to remove the tumour will be very high risk, so make him comfortable and when the time comes euthanasia.

The first step is taking your pet rat to a veterinarian. There your vet will do a full physical exam and most likely want to shoot x-rays of the tumor area. Once they know what it looks like they would want to remove it and send a biopsy to the lab to make sure the it was not cancer

There is really no treatment unless you spend thousands of dollars and it only prolongs thier life a couple years. All I can recommend is Aspirin for the pain.

You can either have a vet surgically remove it, and they will usually live for a few more years. I had a friend that had a rat that got a tumor when I was a kid. You may also have to put the rat down. This is not a decision that should be taken lightly.
