This is a term that is used in social sciences. It is a specific theory so there is not more than one. In a nutshell, it refers to the type of social arrangements that exist in a society and how that affects the behaviors of people in a given society.

The theory of social structure discusses how social norms affect the individual in the society. Although this is general, there are then specific studies such as poverty, crime, and relationships.
