What impact did the American Revolutionary War have on the social structure of women, blacks, and others?

The short answer is that it did not have much of an impact at all. Historians such as Charles A. Beard have argued that the American Revolution simply replaced one form of rule by white males with another. However, within the household white men still dominated.

The respect of women began to rise when they were needed to stay home and take care of the farm and the family. Blacks were often allowed to fight in the south for the Patriots with hopes to one day be free.
