What is the standard girls softball pitch distance?

Answer by  sususu (866)

It depends on how old the players are and whether the game is fastpitch or slowpitch. The distance is 43 feet for fastpitch and 50 feet for slowpitch.

Today, in international women's fastpitch softball and on the collegeiate level, the standard distance from the pitching rubber to home plate is 43 feet. In 2009, a rule was passed, and as of the 2010-11 school year, high school varsity softball will also pitch from 43 feet; states have the option of implementing the rule this year as well.
