Cats can have fleas too. However, they don't usually lose hair because of flea infestation, so you should definitely visit your vet and find out what exactly is causing problems. Fungi infestation, allergy to something in the food or in the surroundings could also be causing scratching and loss of hair.

No, cats are just as likely as dogs to have fleas. Treatment is the same for dogs and cats, just make sure you pay attention to the dosage on the product you use because cats are so much smaller than dogs. Also, if the cat is let outside it is more likely to get infested with fleas again.

Oh no cats can get fleas also, they have flea collars and shampoo's available in the stores for this. If you cat goes out they can get fleas even if they don't go out and you have an other pet that does go out they can bring the fleas in.

Depending on the time of year, cats may lose hair (just like dogs) due to shedding. As for scratching - Cats can have fleas, too.
