There are many reasons why your dog is losing its hair. If he isn't losing that much he could just be shedding his winter coat. If he's losing a large amount he could have an illness or an allergy that is causing the hair loss. You should take him to a vet to make sure he's healthy.

when a yorkie reaches a certain age, the dark hair on the top of his head starts to change color. It starts to go silver in color and it looks like they are going bald. Don't worry, its normal. He will start to get his normal color shortly. it's just lighter at the roots.

Dogs lose hair for lots of reasons, some of which are diet, allergies, stress, and hereditary conditions. A vet or groomer can help find the exact cause.

It could be one of any number of things. It could be nerves that will cause significant hair loss. It could also be an allergy to something. I know alot of the smaller breeds have allergies to grass as well as fleas and as they scratch it irritates the skin and the hair losesn and falls out.

One of the most common causes of hair loss in dogs has to do with a problem with the thyroid which is easily solved with an inexpensive daily medication. As a first step I would bring him to a vet and have a full blood workup done.

If your dog loses hair in the spring or fall it's normal, if not, take your dog to a veterinary. A cause of losing hair is the mycosis so if you see that your dog has got a kind of mycosis and scratches that area you need to take him to a vet.

Consult your vet. It could be natural shedding from temperature change. Hair loss is also a sign of allergies, typically a food allergy, such as fish.

This may be due to nutritional imbalance. It would also be wise to determine if the canine is ill in any way. A simple vet appointment may determine this. Request blood work.

If a dog begins losing his hair it usually because of either a allergic reaction to something either in the air or in its food or a hereditary or nervouks condition. For a dog to lose hair it will require a vet visit because the cause can be quite serious.

If your yorkie is losing hair, I suggest a nice, relaxing song be played. The hair nerves are tense, so the song will work wonders. If it still continues, bathe them in ketchup with some mustard mixed in. Sometimes, setting your dog on fire works, too.
