There a number of things to watch: keep in indirect sunlight, in an area with high humidity (try misting the plant). Keep the soil moist at all times.

Calatheas like humid environments, so misting them occassionally can help. Water it regularly, and repot every two years. Avoid direct sunlight since it fades leaves, and don't over-water.

Do not put the plant in direct sunlight, it will ruin the leaves. Increase the humidity, this plant thrives in humid temperatures. Water the plant enough to keep the soil moist. The water must be room temperature. Let tap water warm for fifteen minutes before putting in the plant. Check every spring to see if the plant needs repotting.
