What is the procedure to fill a child's cavity?

It is very similar to to filling an adult tooth except some pediatric dentists will you a little laughing gas to sedate them. The tooth is numbed, and then grounded out. On children's teeth they generally use the white filling unless you specifically ask for the siver fillings. Due to the high cost.

1. Removal of cavity and immediately surrounding tooth surface 2. Filling in the "hole" to the surface level of the tooth 3. Ensuring that the filling does not interfere with current tooth level and comfort

I have to go back to the dentist tomorrow with my seven year old to have fer first cavity filled. Needless to say, she is dreading it! Unfortunately, it is the same procedure for a child as an adult. However, if you haven't had a cavity filled recently, it isn't as bad as when we were kids.
