Buddhism originated from the teachings of prince Siddhartha Gautama, later called the Buddha. He sought an end to suffering in life. He lived approximately 500 years before Christ.

Buddhism is much older than Christianity. Siddhartha Gautama who became the Buddha lived in the 6th century B.C. about 500 years before Christ.

From what ive read, it would appear that buddhism is older by about 500 years. Buddhism was founded by Siddhartha Gautama a hindu prince. Infact Christ's golden rule was the same as the Buddhas and Confciuos before him.
