A kinesthetic learner benefits from "learning by doing. " Body motion is helpful to this style, so cooking, science lab, sports and speech projects are likely to beneficial. They often focus on more than one thing at a time (listening to television while reading a book), and they tend to do fine with traditional verbal and visual teaching styles.

A kinesthetic learner will want to learn by using a hands-on approach instead of hearing or seeing something. This student won't do well in the traditional lecture environment, where taking notes and taking what the teacher is saying is the norm. Experiments and demonstrations that the student can participate in are some good ways to engage the student.
