What is the key to writing a successful grant proposal?

The key thing is to remember to read the funding guidelines and make sure you fit what they're looking for. Mimic the funder's style, formatting and language wise - don't fill it full of language and acronyms that might not be easily understandable. Find the angle in your project that matches the guidelines and make sure you emphasise that.

Be sure to highlight the impact that the research the grant is for will have for the greater good and education outside of just the immediate research focuses on.
