The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 was the day World War 1 ended and its formal Armistice was signed. "Armistice Day" of that war's end became a holiday for ALL Veterans after World War 2. We still remember the dead at the same time of the Armistice, but now remember all war dead.
