Major League Soccer is very young in the United States because the US did not become interested in soccer untill recently, whereas the world has been since its existence started.

Major league Soccer was founded in the year 1993 by the United States Soccer Federation. The united states and Canada are a part of it comprising 16 different teams (15 in the United States and 1 in Canada). A Large reason for the MLS creation is to take part in the FIFA World Cup.
