Ann Martin wrote "The Doll People." She a YA author, most famous for the Babysitters Club and related franchises. It has nothing whatsoever to do with "Valley of the Dolls," which was a best-seller in the 1960s by the late Jacqueline Susann. It was poorly written, delicious trash that was a huge hit. The sequel was "Once Is Not Enough."
