What is the difference between yellow and clear urine?

Typically, yellow urine means a person is not getting enough fluids. Clear urine means the person is drinking enough fluids. The color of urine is determined by the amount of a chemical called urobilin. The more you drink, the lower concentration of urobilin, and thus less color is present.

Clear urine is, as a general rule, an indication that your body is completely hydrated and as a result what is expelled is essentially just excess water.
