What is the difference between a mechanical and an electronic paintball marker?

A mechanical paintball marker uses the force of the players trigger squeeze to initiate release of gas and firing of the paintball. An electronic marker uses a sensor switch attached to the players trigger to detect a trigger pull and then using a microchip to analyze the markers cocking status will decide if the marker can fire.

Mechanical guns run mechanically and electronic guns run by battery. Electronic guns are faster and more accurate, but are more expensive and are harder to repair.
