Transgender individuals have a gender identity at odds with their physical body. So people in male bodies who identify with women, so are physical females who feel like men; people whose identities straddle the male/female line are also transsexual. Some transgender people change their physical bodies surgically; others simply express their desired gender identity through behavior, dress and grooming.
